Purchasing Team Leader


We need Purchasing Team Leader with CIPS qualification.

Manufacturer in Bedford. On-site parking.

Salary negotiable of level of experience


Your role will provide guidance and support a small team of buyers/purchasing associates and a small team of stores, stock control & goods inwards staff.

You will be vital to the continuous improvement efforts in procurement.



Provide support and guidance to the purchasing team, dealing with the more complex enquiries and escalations.

Resolve any goods inwards issues, investigate and sign off any stock discrepancies.

Generate MRP report daily. Analyse and review needs before distributing to the team and placing orders.

Action or assign any quotation requests for Sales or VAVE purposes.

Validate the POs of purchasing team members.

Ensure all orders are expedited and late deliveries are communicated to relevant parties.

Approve any price increases, up to a certain value or %.

Set and achieve Key Performance Indicators including, but not limited to, cost savings, material price increases & supplier OTD.

Complete KPI reports and communicate monthly to senior management and corporate.

Engage in supplier segmentation & risk assessments for key supply base and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Responsible for on-site consignment cage, ensuring stock levels are available to production and manage the contract with the supplier.

Resolve supplier invoice queries in a timely manner to meet agreed payment schedules.

Responsible for importing purchased goods into the UK and maintaining archives of all relevant shipping documentation in compliance with HMRC regulations.

Attend daily Back Office meetings

Attend monthly corporate purchasing meetings to discuss issues and updates within the group. R


Purchasing department at cross-functional project meetings to ensure delivery on time and on budget to the customer.
